As part of Healthcare Quality Week, OBHG is maximizing the quality of care delivered to patients throughout our network of OB hospitalist programs by focusing on the importance of quality, risk reduction and regulatory compliance.

OBHG’s focus on OB risk reduction, quality improvement and regulatory compliance
“OBHG’s risk management team is a resource for our hospital partners. Our team is comprised of experienced risk managers, all of whom have nursing backgrounds. We also have claims and insurance experts,” said Eric Gardzina, OBHG’s Senior Vice President of Risk Management. “For our hospital partners, we offer assessments to help them evaluate their labor and delivery units related to risk and quality data, trends and opportunities for improvement. We also are available to work with hospitals on any claim issues that may arise. Our risk management team is closely aligned with the clinical leaders at each of our hospital sites. We keep them informed about trends such as safety issues, collaborate with them on strategies for improvement and help when they need assistance implementing clinical initiatives. The bottom line is that we are a resource for our hospital partners. We want to be seen as a partner, not a surveyor. We are there to help them improve their safety and quality efforts in any way we can.”
