For over 15 years, Ob Hospitalist Group has been helping hospitals build safer labor & delivery units with 24/7 physician presence and obstetric emergency departments. Our OB hospitalist programs bring high quality care, team-based support, evidence-based protocols, and measurable results to healthcare organizations.
We know that traditional OB hospitalist programs aren’t the right solution for every hospital. That’s why we help hospitals large and small identify maternal health solutions that are built to fit their organization and particular needs.
Here are some of the ways that we’re helping low delivery volume and rural hospitals with women’s health and obstetrical challenges across the United States.
Call and clinic OB/GYN coverage
Thanks to OBHG, a 500-delivery hospital is replacing their reliance on locums after losing community OB/GYNs. We’re providing 24/7 call coverage and clinic coverage during the week while on call.
On-site coverage and outpatient support
For a 350-delivery hospital that lost two of its three physicians, OBHG stepped in to provide hospital coverage and outpatient support, supplementing the remaining physician in the market.
Call and clinic coverage, midwifery support
We’re partnering with a 540-delivery community hospital with a busy OB clinic to provide 24/7 OB/GYN and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) call coverage plus CNM clinic coverage during the week.
Clinic and in-hospital coverage
OBHG clinicians are providing a blend of clinic and in-hospital coverage five 24-hour shifts a week for a 400-delivery hospital, serving as the backbone of the labor and delivery program.
Off-site call coverage and outpatient care
When a 400-delivery hospital lost one of their two physicians and anticipated losing a second, the community was left with one nurse practitioner to manage. OBHG is providing 24/7 physician market coverage – off-site call coverage while providing outpatient care – and one nurse practitioner in clinic.
Clinic and in-hospital obstetrical coverage
One of OBHG’s hospital partners supports a busy air force base, driving most of the hospital’s 980 deliveries. Challenged hiring OB providers, the hospital turned to OBHG. To solve the hospital’s challenges, we’re providing core OB care with a physician and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) on site 24/7 with additional CNM support in the outpatient clinic Monday-Friday.
“When two of our three OB/GYN community providers left abruptly, we were hanging on by a thread. OBHG has enabled us to maintain our program, they are a reliable partner. I have no hesitation recommending OBHG.” — Traci Thibodeaux, CEO, Beauregard Memorial Hospital
