Nearly 150 of OBHG’s clinical leaders recently returned from OBHG’s National Clinical Leadership meeting. This year, the event was held in Las Vegas. The meeting theme, Leading by Connection (Inspire-Impact-Change) reinforces the important leadership connection between OBHG Site Directors and hospital leaders, community physicians, patients, OBHG and the on-site OB hospitalist team.
Kicking off the event was Keynote speaker Robyn Benincasa. Robyn is a World Champion Adventure Racer, a San Diego City Firefighter, and a CNN Hero who understands how world-class teams that succeed against the toughest of odds are built. Robyn’s shared knowledge about “Adapting, Overcoming and Winning as One: Leading High-Performance Teams Through Challenge and Change.”
OBHG’s clinical leaders, consisting of OB/GYN and Certified Nurse Midwives, participated in sessions covering topics from leadership to safety on the labor and delivery unit. Many clinicians shared their knowledge and experiences on stage with their peers.
“It is so important for all of our clinicians to truly understand how supported they are at OBHG,” said Dr. Amy VanBlaricom, OBHG Chief Clinical Officer. “While this year’s National Clinical Leadership Meeting was our largest ever, what makes it so special is the camaraderie and connection our clinicians made with one another and the support network they strengthened through these connections. Our clinicians left the meeting feeling energized with new tools and ideas they can put into practice.”
