Congratulations to OBHG’s Dr. Rakhi Dimino on her recent appointment to Chair of the Preeclampsia Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The Preeclampsia Foundation works to improve the outcomes of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy via education, community support, healthcare practice improvement and research for a cure.
“Preeclampsia is a serious condition that affects so many pregnant women,” said Dr. Dimino, who most recently served as Vice Chair for the Preeclampsia Foundation’s Board of Directors. “As an OB hospitalist, I treat many patients with hypertensive disorders and am unfortunately well aware of how preeclampsia can turn into an emergency very quickly. There is so much we still don’t know about preeclampsia but I am encouraged by the dedication and accomplishments of the Preeclampsia Foundation on behalf of the mothers, babies and their families.”
In addition to Dr. Dimino’s roles with OBHG and the Preeclampsia Foundation, she is treasurer and member of the board of directors for the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists, Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of OB/GYN Hospital Medicine, a faculty member of the Texas AIM Plus Obstetric Hemorrhage Learning Collaborative, holds an active role on Texas Medical Association’s Committee on Reproductive, Women’s and Perinatal Health and is on the board of medical legislation for the Harris County Medical Society in Houston.
Thanks Dr. Dimino, for your commitment in improving the health of pregnant women.
