“Prior to my experience, I had no idea that OB hospitalists were used in a hospital setting. But now that I know that Dr. Vandever was there for me because of that program being in place at the hospital I delivered at, I have much honor and gratitude because it made the difference between life or death in my situation.”
Christine was 39 weeks pregnant with her second child when she went into labor. Until that point, she had a healthy pregnancy with no problems and no pre-existing conditions.
It was not like her first delivery experience. She knew something was different and seemed to be wrong. She started to go into labor and began having seizures, which is something that she has never experienced.
Christine’s husband rushed her to the hospital. OBHG’s Dr. Vandever was on shift and provided emergency care for Christine. She was diagnosed with eclampsia and HELLP syndrome.
Hear Christine talk about her experience and the value of having OB hospitalists in the hospital.
