The Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists (SOGH) recently published the Core Competencies for OB and OB/GYN Hospitalists. The core competencies were developed to delineate the proficiencies required to function effectively as an OB/GYN hospitalist.
As the largest employer of OB hospitalists in the Nation, OBHG currently employs more than 1,200 OB hospitalists. Membership to SOGH is provided to all full-time OBHG clinicians as an employee benefit.
OBHG clinicians regularly volunteer on the SOGH board, on SOGH committees and serve as committee chairs. The following OBHG clinicians contributed to the development of the core competencies for OB hospitalists:
Dr. Rakhi Chaudhuri Dimino
Dr. Diana Glasser
Dr. Moises Lichtinger
Dr. Nahille Natour
Dr. Mark Simon
Dr. Ira John Sites III
Dr. Jana Thor
Dr. Amy VanBlaricom
Dr. Dympna Lynch Weil
OBHG’s Dr. Rakhi Dimino served on the core competencies editorial board. “The Core Competencies for OB/GYN Hospitalists helps guide OB/GYN hospitalists in skills that they may need in the various clinical knowledge, procedures and health systems areas,” said Dr. Dimino. “Most hospitalists will not have every skill listed, but if they are providing care related to that skill, the competencies help ensure that they develop proficiency in that area so that they provide the best care possible to their patients.”
Thank you to the OBHG clinicians listed above for your leadership in helping to develop the core competencies for OB hospitalists. Your contributions are so important to the rapidly growing field of OB hospitalist medicine.
