The new year is just around the corner! 2023 was full of many highlights for Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), made possible through our partnerships with so many wonderful hospitals and clinicians across the country.
Our mission remains the same each year – to elevate the quality and safety of maternal care and expand access to care. Every one of our employees – whether they are a clinician providing patient care or one of our non-clinical employees is driven by a common focus of improving the health care of women and babies.
Join us in looking back at some of the highlights from 2023:
- We are ending the year with more than 260 hospital partners. Each year, our partner base continues to expand as we welcome new hospitals across the country to the OBHG family. We celebrated many achievements and milestones with our hospital partners this year, including two 15-year anniversaries.
- OBHG clinicians play such a critical role in supporting hospitals and local providers in ensuring women receive the care they deserve with the best outcomes possible. OBHG currently employs more than 1,600 OBHG clinicians.
- OBHG clinicians are making a difference in the lives of more than 670,000 women, performing more than 1,276 lifesaving procedures in just one year.
- We’re honored to work with an increasing number of rural or low-volume delivery hospitals in cultivating solutions that meet their hospital’s unique needs. With the growing issues surrounding maternal care deserts, OBHG’s Maternal Health Access Solutions (MHAS) programs are helping hospitals solve challenges and keep the doors open so women don’t have to travel great distances for much-needed care.
- In 2023, we released a new report revealing OB hospitalists are delivering unbiased care and that clinical outcomes at hospitals with OB hospitalists significantly outpace national performance measures across all races. This report was launched through our efforts to analyze quality metrics by race to evaluate racial disparities under the care of OB hospitalists and was the first report of its kind.
- One of our key focuses in 2023 was continuing to address maternal mortality. We continue to broaden solutions and support policies and actions advancing improved maternal health. We believe that our clinicians have a unique opportunity to make a difference in addressing maternal mortality and morbidity and our teams must continue to identify areas of opportunity and improvement. “Throughout OBHG’s journey, our commitment to ensuring women receive timely, unconditional obstetric care has only strengthened. I’m looking forward to being able to share more about the new solutions we are bringing to hospitals and patients in 2014, and our continued focus on improving access to care and impacting maternal health outcomes.”
We hope you enjoyed reading just some of OBHG’s highlights from 2023. As we look ahead, we’re excited for what’s to come in 2024 and we thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes from Ob Hospitalist Group.
