OBHG at CREOG/APGO 2026: Supporting the Future of OB/GYN Education and What Comes After

We had a wonderful time at the 2026 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting! CREOG/APGO brings together program directors, coordinators, faculty, and residents who are shaping the future of obstetrics.

Our team at Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) was proud to connect with so many dedicated leaders in academic medicine who are deeply committed to training the next generation of OB/GYN clinicians and connect with the next generation of OB clinicians. Throughout the conference, our booth was filled with meaningful conversations about residency training, hospital-based practice, and what life after residency can truly look like.

From Residency to Real-World Practice

For many residents, the shift from residency to independent practice can feel both exciting and daunting. The OB hospitalist model offers flexibility, defined schedules, and a team-based environment that supports both clinical excellence and personal well-being.

For clinicians transitioning directly from residency, confidence often grows quickly with the right support system in place. Many discover that their training has fully prepared them to manage high-acuity situations independently and that structured hospital-based roles can provide both autonomy and collaboration.

For others coming from private practice, the hospitalist model can restore balance and create space for leadership opportunities in quality improvement and patient safety, without sacrificing time with family.

Advancing Education Through Collaboration

Reflecting on the experience, Soronia Roberts, OBHG Residency Outreach Program Manager, shared:

“Attending CREOG always feels like stepping into the heartbeat of OB/GYN education. Every conversation with program directors, coordinators, and residents reinforced that collaboration is how we move forward. I am grateful to represent work that supports both education and long-term career success.”

We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of these important conversations and to continue building partnerships that support both residency programs and the clinicians they train.

At OBHG, preparing the next generation of OB/GYNs isn’t just about education, it’s about ensuring they have sustainable, fulfilling career paths long after residency ends.
