OBHG partners with Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC with a ramp up start and full-time OB hospitalist program starting in Q1 2024. The hospital is an affiliate of UNC Health.
Hospital leadership is looking to drive quality and safety and increase delivery volume. The partnership was formed after the hospital experienced an increase in birth volumes from a nearby military hospital. OBHG will help manage these challenges and provide solutions for reducing physician burnout.
OBHG will provide 24/7 physician coverage and implement an obstetric emergency department (OBED). At program launch, the hospital will have 24/7 community midwife coverage working alongside OBHG’s clinicians on labor and delivery. The hospital is currently supported by a private physician group.
Onslow Memorial Hospital currently sees approximately 1,400 annual births and 2,800 triage visits. The hospital looks to grow its annual delivery volume to 2,000 annual deliveries with OBHG’s partnership.
The team at Onslow Memorial Hospital includes Diplomats: Dr. Kathryn Hale, Dr. Leah Goodson-Gerami, and Dr. Linet Campbell. Dr. Trexler will serve as Interim Site Director for this program.
This is the 32nd OBHG program to start in 2023! OBHG looks forward to partnering Onslow Memorial Hospital and positively impacting the lives of their physicians, women, and babies in their community.
