Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) has provided emergent care for women and babies for over 15 years and our clinicians are a vital part of our mission. What’s more, multiple clinicians have been part of the OBHG family for more than ten years.
Today we recognize and thank three OBHG clinicians for their service and dedication over the past ten years:
- Dr. Jennifer Hayes – Dr. Hayes has worked at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK since 2012. St. John Medical Center Site Director Dr. Aubrey Schinnerer said, “Dr. Hayes is exactly who you want as an OB Hospitalist. She provides excellent care for all patients and is an outstanding surgeon and clinician. She has fostered strong relationships with the community physicians throughout her tenure with OBHG. When someone on the team needs help covering shifts, she is always one of the first to help. Dr. Hayes is a valuable member of the team, and we are so grateful to be able to work with her.”
- Dr. Louise Gombako-Amos – Before becoming a hospitalist, Dr. Gombako-Amos was a co-owner of her own practice in McComb, Mississippi, and formerly served as Department Chair of OB/GYN at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. Dr. Gombako-Amos is active in multiple community volunteer efforts and has a black belt in taekwondo. East Jefferson General Hospital Site Director Dr. Marya Porter said, “Dr. Gombako is someone that I know that I can count on, without question. She is the ultimate professional and team player. As the member with the most hospitalist experience, I have come to rely on her opinion and insight. She helps to foster an environment of respect and appreciation. She is always willing to do what is needed to ensure the safety and care of the patients.”
- Dr. Jan Furniss – Dr. Furniss became a hospitalist after 28 years in private practice. She chose OB/GYN over general surgery so she could perform surgery and follow up with patients afterward. Dr. Furniss studies the history of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has a collection of antique OB/GYN books and medical instruments. Dr. Thomas Pearson, an OBHG hospitalist, has known Dr. Furniss for many years as they were in private practice together before OBHG. “I have worked with Dr. Furniss for the past 25 years. I have not only admired her dedication and devotion to her patients but also appreciated what a remarkable partner she has been to me. We at OBHG are truly fortunate to be on the same team as Jan.”
Please join us in recognizing these clinicians for their ten years of making sure women and babies have the excellent care that they need when they need it.
Congratulations on this milestone anniversary!
