OBHG is proud to announce a new partnership with Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, Virginia, with a ramp start beginning February 2026. Plans are underway to launch an OBED in Q4 2026, further expanding access to specialized obstetric emergency care for the community.
Carilion New River Valley Medical Center averages approximately 870 deliveries and 1,458 triage visits each year, with a shared goal of growing annual births back above 1,000. Through this partnership, OBHG will help stabilize and strengthen the care team by expanding recruitment of OB/GYNs and certified nurse midwives (CNMs), while reducing physician and nurse burnout through a lower call burden.
The addition of OBED capabilities will support program growth, enhance standardization of care, and improve the patient experience. The collaboration will also bolster midwife support and recruitment efforts, elevate quality initiatives, and reduce risk across Labor & Delivery services.
This partnership marks OBHG’s seventeenth program in Virginia and our fifth new program launch in 2026 — continuing our commitment to advancing safe, high-quality obstetric care across the Commonwealth.
