Today's Hospitalist: When healers suffer

Leaders must provide emotional care to their front-line clinicians during the pandemic. OBHG's Dr. Mark Simon highlights some of the approaches OBHG uses to support clinicians and encourage collaboration during the pandemic and every day in Today's Hospitalist. These approaches include OBHG’s CARE program, “Purposeful Pauses” and Ob Exchange. 

It is our job to mend and cure and to “do no harm.” When those efforts fall short or patients suffer despite our best efforts, we often feel we have failed. By providing paths for clinicians to regain emotional health and find compassion for ourselves, hospitalist programs and hospitals can help the healers heal.
