Tennessean: Tennessee must take steps to prevent maternal deaths
Tennessee has the 10th highest maternal death rate in the country. The Tennessee Department of Health recently issued a report on maternal deaths, noting that 78 women across the state died last year while pregnant or within one year of pregnancy in 2017. And 85 percent were preventable. OBHG’s Dr. Jamie Ware recommends three ways hospitals can prevent maternal mortality.
