Physician's Weekly: Why are women dying prematurely of CVD? And a look at pregnancy and childbirth safety
OBHG’s Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations, Dr. Charlie Jaynes was featured as a guest on the Physicians Weekly podcast discussing pregnancy and childbirth safety. In the episode titled “Why are women dying prematurely of CVD? And a look at pregnancy and childbirth safety,” Dr. Jaynes discusses many of the factors contributing to our nation’s high maternal mortality rates. He also shares efforts underway to combat rising maternal mortality such as maternal review boards, data collection efforts, maternal level of care designations, efforts to address implicit bias and more.
“What I'm involved with now (at OBHG) is really, we're working on trying to change the system to address the issue of quality care, to address the issue of recognition of bias and how that works to negative outcome and to provide good care to any female, regardless of race, creed, color or financial capability."
