Healthline: Black women are 25% more likely to have a C-Section than white women

A new report from New Jersey highlights that Black women are 25% more likely to have a C-section than white women. In an article published in Healthline, OBHG's Dr. Mark Simon was quoted on the urgent need to address these stark disparities. “The findings from the new study are alarming — it is concerning that these disparities exist and are so stark.” He emphasized the importance of recognizing implicit bias in healthcare and the role of a diverse clinical workforce in improving outcomes. “When health systems prioritize equitable outcomes for maternal patients, everyone benefits."
