Poplar Bluff is known as the Gateway to the Ozarks and is located between St. Louis, Memphis, and Little Rock. Poplar Bluff is also famous for award winning BBQ and pink lemonade. The downtown area is home to the historic Rodgers Theatre and the Margaret Hartwell Art Museum. Just outside the city is the Mark Twain National Forest, which stretches 1.5 million acres across 29 counties and is known for its hiking trails and numerous natural lakes and rivers for kayaking and fishing. Elephant Rock State Park features 1.5-billion-year-old granite boulders.
