The Opportunity

OBHG OB/GYN Hospitalists are the in-house experts whose ability to handle any obstetric emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.

This opportunity involves working collaboratively with local obstetricians to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician every time. We are seeking OB/GYNs with exceptional clinical and communication skills, a passion for healthcare quality improvement, and a desire to shape the future of our specialty.

Hospital Information

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH) combines leading technology with compassionate health care professionals to deliver excellent care to women. With a Level II NICU staffed by skilled pediatricians and neonatal nurses, FMH has a multidisciplinary team that works towards safety and family centered care. FMH currently sees approximately 1,000 annual deliveries. Fairbanks Memorial Hospital NICU has been newly renovated to provide an intimate family experience with state-of-the-art equipment.

The Location

Known as the Golden Heart of Alaska, Fairbanks is steeped with stunning mountain ranges, crystal clear lakes and rivers, abundant wildlife, and the best place to view the captivating aurora borealis from August - April. Originally a gold rush boomtown, Fairbanks is now a popular destination teeming with native Alaskan culture which can be seen in everything from award winning restaurants with Alaskan-style cooking to local activities such as dog mushing. Splitting the town is the beautiful Chena River, which is used as a spot for local events and activities. For adventurers, Fairbanks is the ideal basecamp for exploring Denali National Park (2 hours away) and the Arctic Circle (5 hours away).
