Maternal Health Access Solutions (MHAS)
Expanding access. Strengthening service lines. Transforming women’s health care.
Across the country, rural and community hospitals are facing an unprecedented challenge: maintaining access to essential women’s health services. Labor and delivery unit closures, OB/GYN workforce shortages, and rising patient demand are leaving many hospitals stretched thin—and leaving millions of women without local care.
Maternal Health Access Solutions (MHAS), powered by Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), was created to address these challenges head-on. MHAS is a flexible, collaborative partnership model that helps hospitals and clinics—including Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)—sustain and grow their obstetric and gynecologic services. The program delivers customized staffing solutions, continuity of care, and dedicated clinical support designed to meet each community’s unique needs.
Unlike traditional hospitalist programs, MHAS is specifically designed for low-volume, rural, and community hospitals that need dependable coverage but may not require a full-time hospitalist presence. The model provides the right level of support—where and when it’s needed—to ensure every woman in every community has access to safe, high-quality care close to home.
