Nikki Fanning, MD

Dr. Nikki Fanning joined Ob Hospitalist Group in 2020 as an obstetric hospitalist, bringing a wealth of experience from both clinical and academic roles. A Board-Certified OB/GYN since 2017, Dr. Fanning earned her B.S. in Health Sciences from James Madison University, her M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. Fanning has held various impactful positions throughout her career, including as an OB/GYN with the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense. She also served as an Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Since joining OBHG, Dr. Fanning has served as a Site Director in Richmond, VA, and a Market Medical Director for hospital programs in Central Virginia, where she oversees regional hospital sites and multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of maternal health services.

In January 2025, Dr. Fanning was promoted to Vice President of Clinical Operations, where she continues to focus on advancing OBHG’s mission of improving maternal health outcomes. Her dedication to evidence-based medicine, innovative care models, and fostering strong hospital partnerships has been instrumental in shaping the future of women’s health care.
