“What people sometimes don’t understand is that we are experts in physiological birth who have been trained to assist with the cesarean sections and have gone on to do additional training. I assist with robotics and laparoscopy for gynecology, surgery and complicated cesarean sections.

Another thing I love about being a CNM is being able to think creatively in a safe way and allowing patients to have a physiological birth with low risk interventions such as  position changes, peanut balls, and different pushing and laboring positions. Ultimately, this lowers C-section rates.”
